Job description

Help in greenhouse and outdoor vegetable plot, plant care, trail brushing, mechanized firewood splitting, operation and maintenance of heavy equipment. Using a chainsaw and other power tools will be involved. Training provided.

Job Location

• Kispiox Valley near Hazelton in northwest British Columbia
• Travel and accommodation costs may be covered for employee who has to relocate
• Onsite camping is available. Other accommodation may be available.

Eligibility Requirements- must meet all of the below to be considered

• Government sponsored job, only those that meet the following criteria will be considered.
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada (Must state which applies to be considered)
• Youth aged 15 to 30 (inclusive) (Must state age in application to be considered)
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work alone

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 2-4 months, 600-700 hours

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour plus contract completion bonus possible

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week (up to 60 with agreement to average hours of work)

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
