Salary: $38.58 to $46.48 per hour

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Medical Affairs Coordinator is responsible for providing professional expertise and leadership in the area of physician human resource planning and support in collaboration with the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff. The incumbent is a highly autonomous, self-directed professional who is responsible for supporting the physician onboarding process, processing professional staff credentialing, and participating in physician recruitment and retention initiatives.

The Medical Affairs Coordinator will initiate and coordinate various projects related to the hospital Professional Staff, implementation of medical directives and Professional Staff policy development. Ensures content is in adherence to professional staff standards and guidelines, OHA guidelines and Best Practices. Must be familiar with system scope and department specific objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a 3-year Community College in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
  • Three to five years of recent related experience preferably in a health care setting.
  • Experience working with and engaging external stakeholders
  • Experience in a healthcare environment involving working with physicians is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of appropriate training, licensure, insurance and types of privileges for new Professional staff recruits in accordance with the Professional Staff By-Laws, the Rules and Regulations for the Professional Staff and the Ontario Public Hospital Act.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs and computer systems.

  • Highly developed problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills required to deal with unexpected situations or issues.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing several projects; project managements skills, relevant for implementing revising existing processes and implementing new systems.
