Responsibilities include:
Coordinating planting locations and timing with production to optimize available space and minimize down time.
Forecast upcoming space requirements to minimize movement of product.
Time management and prioritization of tasks to ensure optimal plant health is maintained.
Perform (or have assistance) with taking pH/EC readings for crops under production weekly. Monitor and take corrective action when necessary.
Monitor and document plant growth to ensure target height and ready dates are achieved. Report any variance through the proper channels established within the business.
Report all crop losses and damages through internal documentation programs.
Lead and support Junior Growers and Assistants with completion of chemical applications, irrigation techniques and all other associated crop maintenance activities. i.e. planting, transplanting, trimming, pinching etc.

Self-starter with ability to identify knowledge gaps in culture and practices. Research solutions and improvement opportunities. Suggest and trial new methodologies and practices with an aim to improve crop quality and reduce cost.
Attention to detail and able to recognize common signs of nutrient deficiencies, disease symptoms and pest pressure.
Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail. Document and prepare seasonal reviews and summaries of crop treatments, trials and production practices. Maintain up to date logs on daily chemical applications, irrigation events,
Strong decision-making ability. Prioritize crop health by evaluating and synthesizing crop irrigation, treatments, climatic influences and historical information to make the best decision for each crop on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis.
Experience with Argus Greenhouse Climate Control software to program watering, lighting, shading and climate set points.
Thorough understanding of pests and diseases prone to affect all crops in production along with a thorough understanding of crop specific moisture, NPK and acceptable pH/EC requirements and preventative treatments rotations.
Ability to program and monitor propagation boom activities using Perfect Rain software ensuring proper mist schedules are adhered to for optimal root development. Troubleshooting issues with booms and controllers.
