Municipal Worker 1 - Parks Summer Student
(1 Position Available) Term of Employment:Full-Time, Summer Term (July 14, 2025 - August 15, 2025)Rate of Pay:Student Wage Band: $17.70 per hour (Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)Location:Lloydminster Golf & Curling CentreDuties:The Municipal Worker 1 performs a variety of parks and open-space maintenance, including all activities associated with turf, tree, flower and shrub bed maintenance, throughout the City of Lloydminster, in a safe and efficient manner. Duties may also include the care of sports fields, playgrounds, and other city amenities. The Municipal Worker 1 will participate in the City of Lloydminster's Safety Management System. Other relevant duties may be assigned as required.Schedule:Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the occasional requirement to work outside these hours, including weekend rotation. LGCC start time can very from 5:00am-7:00am depending on departmental needs.Qualifications:The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operator's License (registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan) with a clear driver's abstract.
• Must be in good physical condition.
• Previous experience operating riding lawnmowers, push lawnmowers and string trimmers will be considered an asset.
• The ability to lift up to 25 kg (50 lbs).
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• This position is contingent on receiving a satisfactory criminal record check prior to start date.

Special Instructions: Applicants must be attending a post-secondary program including: college or university during the last school term and returning to studies in the subsequent academic year.
