Position Description

Title: Industrial Electro Mechanic (Mechanic/Electrician or Millwright)

Department: Maintenance

Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor

Status: Full time

Position Purpose: The Electro Mechanic assists in the production process by performing regular maintenance (PMs), Break down Analysis with Countermeasures, and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment. The Industrial Mechanic is also the go-to person for issues with production lines, equipment, and other machines.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Daily machinery checks (Defect Finding/Fixing, establish a Live working list); proactive maintenance approach
  • Cleaning, Inspecting and lubricating machinery and Preventative Maintenance (Performing CILs with Operations, and Daily/Weekly Monthly/Quarterly PMs);
  • Perform Breakdown Root Cause Analysis and establish CIL or PM to prevent future breakdown.
  • Correcting issues with machinery.
  • Removing/replacing defective parts following LOTO procedures.
  • Installing new machinery;
  • Educating production workers about Autonomous Maintenance and preventative maintenance.
  • Preparing & updating Defect List, Safety Action Items list, PHA list and shifty maintenance reports.
  • Identifying critical issues during PM or runtime to future repairs with order of required labor & parts.
  • Ordering parts and supplies, organizing and tracking inventory of supplies.
  • Work with Supervisor or PE to develop OPLs for AM /PM work for operators to assist with.
  • Related tasks as requested by supervisor

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Must be a certified Industrial Mechanic or Millwright
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience with AM (Autonomous Maintenance) and PM (Preventative Maintenance) systems using CMMS software.
  • PLC troubleshooting and/or programming experience is an asset.
  • Strong manual dexterity.
  • Manufacturing fabrication experience;
  • Mechanical and technical skills, along with Safety as Top Priority;
  • Precision machining and welding;
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics;
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and problem solve malfunctions;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and under minimum supervision;
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude, familiarity with plastics or converting machinery is required;
  • Work planning and continuous improvement experience would be considered an asset;
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
  • A good sense of risk management;
  • 12hr Continental shift 7am-7pm
