Salary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations and Finance, the Innovation Lead is responsible for driving the organization's innovation efforts to facilitate new ways of regulating and promoting excellence in pharmacy practice. This includes managing an innovation pipeline, scanning the environment and collaborating with other organizations to identify leading practices, evaluating existing programs and practices, and leading implementation projects. The Innovation Lead will be at the forefront of ACPs efforts to assess the potential of artificial intelligence and data analytics to inform regulatory programs and interventions. The Innovation Lead will collaborate with ACPs program directors and lead cross-functional teams to communicate the vision for innovation, inspire a culture of creativity and experimentation, and serve as a hub for idea generation, testing, and implementation.

Key responsibilities

Innovation leadership and strategy

  • Develop and maintain an innovation ideation and incubation process at ACP.
  • Conduct environmental scans, facilitate research, and engage with other regulators and thought leaders to identify potential innovations that align with strategic and operational priorities.
  • Lead internal cross-functional teams to evaluate potential innovations, select and implement projects, and evaluate success.
  • Facilitate collaboration and cooperation between diverse groups to create a shared understanding of the innovation process and advance strategic initiatives.
  • Lead and nurture change management efforts associated with process improvements and project implementations.

Analytics and research

  • Establish priorities for data analytics projects and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a process to identify and prioritize research projects and engage researchers in studies of pharmacy practice.
  • Support the identification and application of emerging technologies, predictive analytics, and advanced methodologies to enhance the quality of ACPs programs.
  • Lead projects to assess and implement machine learning and predictive analytics related to pharmacy practice.
  • Conduct regular environmental scans on regulatory best practices and innovative research practices.
  • Use research findings to assess potential application of best practices to existing programs and propose a model for a common cycle of program evaluation across ACP programs.
  • Establish and maintain external partnerships for data sharing.

Indicator development and reporting

  • Identify ways for ACP to assess and report on registrant experience, variability and excellence in pharmacy practice, and patient experience and outcomes.
  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve Council and operational dashboards in collaboration with ACPs Business Intelligence Analyst.
  • Facilitate partnerships and implement processes to develop data sources related to patient interactions, experience and outcomes.
  • Support other related programs and projects, including ACPs continuous quality improvement program (CQI+) for pharmacies and the development of improvement reports to individual pharmacies.

Qualifications

  • A masters degree in business or health (e.g., Master of Business Administration, Master of Health Administration, Master of Public Health).
  • Seven to ten years of related experience. Experience in healthcare is considered an asset.
  • Experience with data analytics and performance indicators.
  • Familiarity with design thinking, agile methodologies, and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of health care regulation and the pharmacy sector is considered an asset.
  • PMP certification is considered an asset.
  • Certification in process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) and change management methodologies is considered an asset (e.g., Prosci).
  • Proficient in process mapping and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
