Chimo 5 Group Care Support Staff
The Chimo 5 Transition Home is a group care program that aims to support young people learn the skills to live full and complete lives in our community. The young people living at Chimo 5 Transition Home have status with the Alberta government - either Childrens Services or Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) or Delegated First Nation Agencies (DFNA). The Chimo 5 program prepares young people to return to living with their families or to transition to adult living situations and adult services (i.e. Persons with Developmental Disabilities, AISH). -
The Chimo 5 Transition Home program is currently seeking a Part Time Relief Group Care Support Staff.
The above position requires a diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or a related field. Requirements of the positions include but are not limited to: day to day operations of the home, implementation of the youths in-home programming, daily documentation/reporting, teamwork and advocacy.
Successful candidates will:
- Demonstrate care and compassion for young people
- Possess a strong understanding of working with young people and adults who live with challenges in a variety of areas, including developmental disabilities, mental health, attachment, addictions and barriers to accessing community resources.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and writing reports/logs.
- Current (within 6 months) Police Information Check (including vulnerable sector) and Child Intervention Record Check
- Class 5 AB Driver's Licence, three years driving experience, a clean three-year drivers abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status or medical exemption
