Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and empathetic UI/UX Designer to join our team. In this critical role, you
will be instrumental in shaping the user experience and visual design of our cutting-edge
cardiovascular imaging software (cvi42). You will translate complex medical workflows and data into
intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing interfaces that empower cardiologists, radiologists,
technologists, and researchers worldwide. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient care
by making our advanced AI and imaging tools easily accessible and usable.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop visually appealing, intuitive, and consistent user interfaces that align with Circles
brand guidelines and medical imaging software best practices. - Conduct comprehensive user research, including user interviews, contextual inquiries,
surveys, and usability testing, with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare
professionals to deeply understand their workflows, needs, and pain points. - Develop user personas and user journey maps to effectively communicate user insights
across the product team. - Create wireframe, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design solutions
while iterating on designs based on user feedback and usability findings. - Define clear and consistent interaction patterns to ensure a smooth and efficient user
experience across Circle products. - Create and maintain style guides and graphical assets that incorporate key aspects of the
software design like color palettes, iconography, and graphical elements to enhance usability
and readability for users. - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, QA, Clinical Application
Specialists and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle. - Clearly articulate design decisions, rationale, and user insights to technical and non-technical
audiences. - Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to gather feedback and
alignment on product designs. - Plan, conduct, analyze, and document usability tests to gather qualitative and quantitative
feedback on design effectiveness. - Establish and manage standard operating practices related to usability engineering and other
technical documentation required in product design to meet the ISO 13485 / US FDA Quality
System Regulations / MDR and other relevant standards and regulations. - Produce high-fidelity design assets and specifications, including pixel-perfect mockups and
annotated deliverables, ensuring seamless handoff & accurate implementation by developers.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of demonstrable UI/UX design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your
design process, problem-solving skills, and visual design expertise. - Solid understanding for critical healthcare requirements including patient safety, data
accuracy, accessibility standards, and regulatory compliance. - Solid understanding of the nuances associated with designing for software as a medical
device, prioritizing clarity, error prevention, and efficient user task completion. - Experience visualizing complex medical data including cardiac MRI and CT images,
quantitative measurements, and reports in clear and actionable ways. - Experience designing complex software user interfaces.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools.
- Experience with user research methodologies (interviews, surveys, usability testing) and
analytical tools. - Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and
interaction design patterns. - Experience with agile software development practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of empathy for users and a passion for creating intuitive and impactful products.
- Experience designing desktop and web applications.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Interaction Design, HCI (Human-Computer Interaction), Graphic Design,
Product Design, or a related field.
