Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 /annual

The Whitecaps FC mission is To Unite and Inspire Our Communities. We are looking for a new team member to join Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the position of Social Media Producer.

The Social Media Producer is responsible for the execution of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on social media and digital platforms. This role will be an active member of the Whitecaps FCs Content team and will maximize fan engagement by helping to create new programs that drive partnership revenues, elevate our social media profiles while telling an engaging story.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create and post content for MLS social media platforms including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook -- on weekdays, evenings and weekends (game, big event, and desk coverage required).
  • Collaborate on the content calendar and day-to-day publishing of social content in our voice.
  • Provide and manage live match coverage on weeknights and weekends.
  • Create short-form video content for social accounts, including TikTok, Twitter and Instagram Reels
  • Leverage trending topics and conversations in real-time to capitalize on content opportunities to amplify the voice/brand for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC
  • Collaborate across the organization on strategies that leverage players, partners, influencers, and/or celebrities to achieve organization-wide metrics.
  • Work with the Lead, social media to cultivate fan engagement and plan/craft social media posts and campaigns, that optimize social media performance across Vancouver Whitecaps FC channels
  • Explore best-in-class ways to bring storytelling opportunities to life on our website and social media platforms through smart and authentic content that will result in league-leading levels of fan engagement

Qualifications/Experience:

In addition to bringing a commitment to Vancouver Whitecaps FC vision and values, the ideal candidate will require degrees of demonstrated experience as follows:

  • 2+ years experience in Digital Media for a fast-paced sports or entertainment organization
  • As a member of the team, you will be a creative, energetic, and motivated social media practitioner with a passion for soccer, sport, and social media. Knowledge of the North American Soccer Scene is beneficial
  • Strong familiarity with social media management and analytics tools platforms such as Hootsuite, Later.com, Blinkfire.
  • Knowledge of emerging platforms such as TikTok/Reels along with other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more
  • Thinks creatively and crafts innovative, deadline-driven digital content that boosts engagement and page views, while embodying our humorous, fan-focused social voice with outstanding copywriting skills.
  • Proficiency and experience with Adobe Creative Suite to produce graphics, videos, and photos
  • Self-starter who works well in a team environment, with the ability to craft time-sensitive digital and social content as needed
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Quick learner who can learn and adapt to new organizational processes.
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset
