Position Summary

The Junior Architectural Technologist assists the Design team with research and drawingassignments for the preparation of Architectural and Interior Design drawings packages. Thisindividual assists by creating architectural and interior design drawings, site plans, floor plans,
office layouts, and renderings for project proposals and presentations, and helps collect relevantproject documentation required to support those proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of site plans, floor plans, and building renderings
  • Assist with securing project documentation from internal and external sources such as site plan information, Zoning By-law requirements, existing building drawings, DevelopmentPermits and Building Permits, etc.
  • Assist with collecting products and technical research as needed for individual projects
  • Assist with assembling standard construction details and specifications for York Construction
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, construction technology, and building codes
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring to York

  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology
  • At least one year of experience as an architectural technologist
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • General understanding of the Building Code
  • Willingness to work within a team structure and taking direction from other Team members
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to adapt to the design team drawing and Revit standards
  • Willingness to learn and seek out relevant continuing education opportunities
  • Motivated and open-minded
