About the RoleReporting to a senior member of the finance team, the Junior Accountant will support a range of accounting tasks, from day-to-day bookkeeping to payroll processing and government filings. What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Administer payroll and assist with statutory filings such as GST/HST, WSIB, and other compliance-related matters
- Assist with tax reporting and financial statement preparation for internal and external stakeholders
- Support tracking and accounting for investment portfolios (e.g., marketable securities, real estate holdings, etc.)
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial processes and documentation
- A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Actively pursuing a CPA designation
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, including payroll and tax remittances
- Familiarity with compliance filings such as GST/HST, WSIB, and employer health taxes
- Experience working with investment or portfolio accounting is considered an asset
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a professional setting
