As an Assistant Controller, you'll be a key player in our finance team by leading and managing the day-to-day accounting operations. Your responsibilities will include oversight of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

As an Assistant Controller you'll be performing the following duties:

  • Lead the preparation of audited financial statements for Canada, ensuring compliance with IFRS and U.S. GAAP. Serve as one of the Company's resources for technical accounting matters, including complex areas such as leases, revenue recognition and business combinations.
  • Oversee and refine internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate and support annual external audit and tax preparation, including managing PBC requests and auditor relationships.
  • Ensure statutory, tax, and other compliance requirements are met for the Canadian operations
  • Serve as TEN Canada's primary liaison with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and other third parties regarding financial reporting and audit compliance.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable workflow and ensuring continuous improvement. Manage vendors and ensure timely payments
  • Drive a culture of accountability, and growth through mentoring, and performance management.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required.
  • Prior experience in both public company settings and private equity-backed environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Experience with M&A, purchase accounting, and integration of acquired businesses.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; able to influence across a matrixed organization and partner effectively with global teams.
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills - with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive corporate accounting experience
