Position: Assistant Orthodontic Department Laboratory Manager

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Compensation: $80,000$100,000 annually

Overview

A unique opportunity is available for a licensed Canadian Dental Hygienist looking to pivot out of traditional hygiene while remaining in a clinical and patient-centered environment. This hybrid role offers the best of both worldscontinued patient interaction along with hands-on training and growth in orthodontic laboratory operations.

Our Calgary-based dental clinic provides both clinical care and in-house lab services. We are seeking a driven and curious professional to join the team as Assistant Orthodontic Department Laboratory Manager, supporting both the technical and administrative functions of the lab while engaging with patients as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Dental Hygiene license in Canada (Alberta preferred)
  • Previous experience working in an orthodontic environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Desire to learn and contribute to lab operations and appliance design
  • Professionalism and flexibility in a dual clinical/laboratory setting

Responsibilities

  • Design Orthodontic Appliances
  • Learn and assist in the design and development of a variety of orthodontic appliances using modern lab technologies.
  • Customer Interaction
  • Communicate with clients (dentists and orthodontists) regarding case details, pricing, turnaround times, and technical specifications.
  • Quality Control
  • Review final lab products to ensure they meet internal quality standards before delivery.
  • Workflow Management
  • Help oversee daily lab operations, ensuring efficient processing of cases and timely delivery.
  • Patient Interaction
  • Occasionally work with patients in our Face4D imaging clinic, assisting with clinical concerns or follow-up related to imaging and appliance fittings.
