ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a well-established company in the industrial and manufacturing sector, is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional with strong knowledge of workplace safety programs and compliance standards.
In this role, youll play a key part in fostering a culture of safety across the organization. You will lead audits, training, and workplace safety initiatives while ensuring alignment with all regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITES
- Part of the JHSC committee as a certified management representative.
- Facilitate meetings, track data, and ensure the committee's effective functioning
- Auditing/ Updating the current company H&S program.
- Updating policies and procedures as required
- Updating training materials related to workplace safety
- Perform risk assessments
- Identify potential hazards in the workplace and work with other JHSC members to develop strategies to mitigate risks
- Assist worker reps with inspecting the workplace
- Maintain documents
- Safety inspections, training sessions, investigations, and other relevant information
- Coordinate with other branches' H&S representatives and support/assist when required.
- Possible to include travel to other branches occasionally.
- Perform shop & field work audits
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practices (OSHA, WHMIS, etc.)
- Certified JHSC Part 1 & 2
- Safety Awareness in 4 or 5 Steps training
- Additional safety certifications are an asset (e.g., Forklift, Working at Heights, LOTO)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments
- Valid First Aid certification is an asset
- Valid Drivers License preferred
