We're looking for an experienced and organized Product Manager to lead the development of a 3D asset/environment viewer and a robust asset management backend within a custom web platform. You'll oversee a small, focused team of frontend (JavaScript) and backend (Python) developers, ensuring that product goals are clearly defined, timelines are met, and features are delivered with precision and quality.
This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives in a creative-technical environment, with a passion for building intuitive, performant tools that serve both creators and technical users. A background in game development, VFX, or animation is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the 3D viewer and asset management components of the platform
- Translate high-level goals into clear, actionable tasks and oversee day-to-day execution with the development team
- Coordinate priorities across frontend and backend engineers, maintaining balance between performance, usability, and delivery
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stakeholder reviews to keep work organized and progress transparent
- Work closely with designers, developers, and technical leads to validate features and workflows
- Define and monitor KPIs for usability, performance, and feature adoption
- Identify and remove blockers, manage scope, and adapt priorities based on evolving needs
- Maintain alignment with broader platform goals and other product streams
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager on web platform projects
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, particularly frontend and backend engineers
- Strong technical understanding of web technologies, especially JavaScript and Python-based platforms
- Experience delivering user-facing products with a focus on clarity, usability, and performance
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Comfortable working in a hybrid team model, with in-person collaboration in Toronto
Nice to Have:
- Background or familiarity with 3D content workflows, game development, or animation pipelines
- Experience managing projects involving real-time 3D rendering, asset viewers, or interactive content
- Familiarity with tools like three.js, WebGL, Blender, Unity, or Unreal Engine
- Understanding of asset versioning, storage, and metadata management
