Job Title: Technical & Operations Coordinator
Department: Ready-Mix Operations
Reports To: Director of Ready Mix Operations
Position Summary
This role integrates technical support with day-to-day operations in the ready-mix concrete industry. You'll be responsible for coordinating order scheduling and dispatch, overseeing quality control testing, and providing hands-on technical support to customers. Working closely with plant and delivery teams, you'll help ensure efficient production, timely deliveries, and consistent product quality—driving both operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Technical Support
· Serve as the primary technical advisor and customer advocate.
· Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, providing timely resolutions.
· Provide product and application recommendations via phone, web, and in-person.
· Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Manufacturing to align on customer needs and product specifications.
· Submit detailed reports on operations and technical issues.
Order Management & Dispatch
· Receive and process customer orders for concrete and related materials.
· Confirm order details and enter them accurately into the system.
· Assign delivery professionals and dispatch trucks to appropriate sites.
· Monitor truck activity and adjust schedules based on availability and customer needs.
Concrete Testing & Quality Control
· Perform on-site and plant-based concrete tests (slump, air content, temperature).
· Document and manage test cylinders for lab analysis.
· Observe and report on finishing practices and third-party testing.
· Communicate test results and quality concerns to operations leadership.
Project & Process Leadership
· Lead internal and customer trials for new products or processes.
· Participate in strategic meetings as a technical resource.
· Support sales efforts with technical insights and pricing guidance.
· Assist in operation/technical coordination and safety compliance.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; CET designation required.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction or concrete industry.
· ACI Grade I Concrete Technician certification preferred.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and dispatch/order entry systems.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
· Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling; occasional extended sitting.
· Work in office, plant, and field environments with exposure to weather, noise, and mechanical parts.
· PPE required on-site (safety boots, hard hats, high-visibility clothing).
· Flexibility for early mornings, extended hours, and weekend shifts.
