A reputable and dynamic company in the agri-business and manufacturing industry is looking for a Finance Controller to become part of their leadership team. This strategic role offers the opportunity to oversee end-to-end financial operations in a multi-site environment and contribute to long-term planning and operational efficiency. It's well-suited for experienced finance professionals who bring a mix of controllership depth and strategic foresight.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for leading the finance function across multiple sites. The focus includes optimizing financial reporting, enhancing internal controls, managing compliance, and supporting business planning through analysis and strategic insights. You'll also guide a small finance team and work cross-functionally with senior leaders.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and deliver financial insights that inform operational and growth decisions
  • Lead annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and scenario-based planning
  • Support executive leadership with financial modeling for new initiatives and capital planning
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and manage cost
  • Oversee accounting operations including payroll, payables, receivables, and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IFRS)
  • Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvement in financial processes
  • Lead treasury management and oversee cash flow planning
  • Deliver monthly reporting packages, KPIs, and variance analysing
  • Prepare annual financial statements and manage external audit
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings (e.g., corporate, payroll, and sales tax) and regulatory obligations
  • Coordinate with auditors, external advisors, and financial institutions as needed
  • Mentor and lead a small finance team, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Promote a strong performance culture and provide development opportunities
What You Bring
  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent)
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or controllership capacity
  • Proven knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controls
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with experience in cost and profitability analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and decision-making ability in dynamic environments
  • Experience working with ERP systems and integrated financial software
  • Exposure to multi-location operations or cross-border financial management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
