Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and/or CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Lead setup and troubleshooting of complex jobs and collaborate with engineers on process improvements.
- Mentor and train junior machinists and assist with workload prioritization.
- Maintain safe work practices and adhere to all safety and quality standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Optimize machining parameters to increase productivity and tool life.
- Red Seal Machinist Certification
- 5–10 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in a high-precision or aerospace/manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, tooling, and cutting conditions.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code and CAM software).
- Ability to use a wide range of inspection tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
