Position Overview

Classic Fire + Life Safety is seeking a motivated, technically experienced, and people-first Field Service Supervisor to lead and support our growing Calgary service team. This individual will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality fire and life safety inspection, testing, and maintenance services, while mentoring field technicians, ensuring safety compliance, and strengthening operational excellence.

As Field Service Supervisor, you will be the daily point of contact for our team of fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguisher technicians. You will provide mentorship and technical leadership, ensure job quality and compliance, and help coordinate operational success with our Service Operations Manager and support teams.

This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys solving challenges, and takes pride in mentoring and developing others.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Team & Technical Leadership

  • Provide coaching, daily guidance, and mentorship to a multidisciplinary technician team.
  • Be the go-to contact for field-level technical support, issue resolution, and job troubleshooting.
  • Support technician onboarding, hands-on training, and participation in monthly safety/toolbox talks.
  • Assist with performance coaching, feedback, and participation in HR-related activities as needed.

Field Operations & Quality Control

  • Ensure inspections, testing, and maintenance work is performed efficiently, accurately, and to CFLS standards.
  • Monitor documentation quality, job completion status, and help reduce return visits through QC practices.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and weekly eCompliance inspections.
  • Coordination of tools, materials, and support logistics for ongoing and upcoming work.

Scheduling & Communication

  • Help manage technician workload, ensure adequate on-call coverage.
  • Act as a field liaison to align service delivery with customer and project expectations.
  • Support job site readiness and sequencing of work to maximize technician productivity and customer satisfaction.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all CFLS safety programs and procedures.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, and assist in maintaining compliance with safety certifications and documentation.
  • Ensure timely submittal of safety forms, audits, incident reports, and assist in continuous safety program improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in fire protection (ITM, Sprinkler, or Fire Alarm), with 1+ year in a team lead, foreman, or supervisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA, ULC, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Experience coordinating field staff, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting job documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable using digital tools (iPads, service software, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Red Seal, CFAA certification, or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
