Our nursing home is a 100-bed person-centered care home located in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be joining approximately 140 other caring and amazing staff members who interact daily with our residents and their families.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Support Services Manager, theLead Cookis responsible for overseeing the kitchen administrative duties, as well as organizing, preparing, cooking, and distributing food and beverages for the Kiwanis Nursing Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for staff schedules, menu preparation, and acting as a direct supervisor to the Dietary Attendant staff.

What we hope you can offer us:

• Successful completion of a post-secondary culinary program, and at least 4 years of full-time experience as a Cook
• Red Seal certification (or enough hours to become eligible) and/or completion of Cook Block 3 would be considered adefinite asset
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform all duties
• Must demonstrate strong communication and organization skills
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, between departments, and with team members
• Demonstrates the ability to use discretion in solutions to issues or problems on how to best provide resident care or services
• The successful candidate will be required to complete a medical check, vulnerable sector check, and Department of Social Development background check as a condition of employment.

What we can offer you:

An hourly wage starting at $28.63 with increases following the CUPE collective agreement.
