Job Description

Overview:
NFSC – NIAGARA FC OPDL is seeking an exceptional and dedicated High-Level Competitive Soccer Coach to lead and develop an elite team/players. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of our players and driving success on and off the field. This role involves providing leadership, planning, fostering development and a culture of excellence for a NIAGARA FC OPDL team. In addition to these responsibilities, administrative duties will also be expected.

Reporting to: Director of High Performance/Technical Lead and Executive Director of OPDL

Time Required: Part time

Location: Niagara Falls Soccer Club, Welland Young's Sportsplex and various fields across Ontario within the OPDL playing loop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver age appropriate Technical and Tactical Coaching program (3 training sessions per week, and 1 – 2 games per week during the season)
• Coach and travel with the team to all competitions.
• Establish a periodized session plan aligned with the Technical Direction of the Club and keeping with OPDL requirements.
• Provide direction and leadership for all staff Coaches and players.
• Be a positive and exemplary role model/representative for the players and the Club.
• Be responsible for the safety and well being of all players under your care.
• Be responsible for the behaviour of your bench staff, players, and parents at all events/games.
• Prepare player evaluations as requested by Ontario Soccer (2 per season)
• Conduct Individual Development Plan Player Meetings (3 per season)
• Utilize coaching resources and software (ACS) to plan and manage training sessions and game play.
• Keep Coaching courses up to date, if necessary, attend mandatory OPDL/Ontario Soccer/Canada Soccer webinars and all Club Coach meetings.
• Participate in all OPDL related events.
• Promote and support, and have a positive attitude towards the NFSC – NIAGARA FC Brand
• Have knowledge of, support, positive attitude towards, and promote Canada Soccer's Long-Term Player
• Development, commitment to holistic player development, Ontario Soccer and the OPDL program.

Requirements:

• Legally entitled to work in Canada/Live locally
• A valid/up-to-date Respect in Soccer for Activity Leaders certification.
• Have completed the following Safe Sport Roster; Understanding the Rule of Two, Canada Soccer Emergency Action Plan, Making Headway Concussion E-Learning, Making Ethical Decisions and Evaluation completed, Respect Group Keeping Girls in Sports.
• All OPDL Head Coaches must hold a minimum qualification of a valid Canadian National B Diploma/Licence or a Youth Licence. a. The Canada Soccer Youth Licence will continue to be recognized as a minimum qualification, in place of the National B Licence, provided the diploma is still valid.
• Experience working with competitive/high performance players
• Valid driver's licence and accessibility to a vehicle.
• A clear Canadian Police Information Check (CPIC)
• Valid standard First Aid with CPR & AED – Level C (or in the process of obtaining)
• Will be responsible for all travel expenses to and from games and Tournaments.
• Shall be a non-parent Coach.
• Have your team engage in at least 2 Community events and volunteer with NFSC's House League program.

Skills and Competencies:

• Exceptional Game Day behaviours
• Able to communicate effectively, professionally, and positively with Assistants and bench staff, Players, Match officials, Parents, and Venue Coordinators.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders and have great team management skills.
• Understand the developmental phases of individual youth players and optimal training and performance standards.
• Good administrative and computer skills with the ability to produce session plans.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10,000.00-$18,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week

Benefits:

• Flexible schedule
• Off in the month of December and for 2 weeks (end of July/beginning of August)

• English preferred

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
• 11 Month program

• Niagara Falls, ON L2J 2W5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
