My client is currently seeking a Field Services Specialist+ excellent benefits + a lot of autonomy for the territory of Alberta and Saskatchewan, with potential travel to YT/NT (maybe one time per year). Ideally based in AB, Calgary or Edmonton, but points in between are fine. This will be calibrating hearing machines throughout clinics & school systems & physician's offices. The company is excellent & is a warm inviting company offering a salary of $65K + car allowance ($10,800) + GAS CARD. The Field Services Specialist is responsible for providing technical end user support, instrument calibration maintenance, repair & overall maintenance on several different manufacturers' equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support assigned region/locations & maintain customer contacts with Health Clinics & hospitals
  • Selling of product equipment to customers
  • Installation/set-up of product equipment for customers
  • On-site repairs, conduct diagnostics on equipment, manage service schedules/contracts
  • Phone support for customers & provide information for potential new equipment
  • Attend trade shows, conferences
  • Provide clinics with product demonstrations & training
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring adequate technical operation of all medical devices
  • Troubleshoot equipment on a technical level with customers over the telephone
  • Provide software support for my client's products for customers
  • Provide unit upgrades or product enhancements
  • Provide equipment, calibration, hardware, software & service support to customers
  • Provide phone support, repair support & be the product expert within your assigned region
  • Support for maintenance & diagnostic equipment, both in-house & on-site
  • Plan & coordinate technical activities such as product bench repair, telephone technical support to customers, troubleshooting, testing & repairing various products
  • Perform equipment calibration & maintain required documentation in the system
  • Stay current with technical changes on products & internal processes
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in a service product field is required (Computer Repair, Electronics technology, medical diagnostic equipment, mechanical repair, or equivalent)
  • Ability to travel domestically (60% day travel, 20% overnight travel)
  • 2+ yrs. experience working in a technical service environment
  • 2+ years' experience working with the selling of products/repairs, warranties, annual services
  • Experience in installing, calibrating, repairing & maintaining electronic equipment
  • Ability to inspect & test electronic equipment & assemblies
  • Outstanding attention to detail & strong organizational skills
  • Ambitious & hunger for continuous learning
  • Technically minded & have a high degree of adaptability & flexibility
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Project a positive & confident attitude focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with customers
