About UsGenerations Cleaning is a fast-growing company providing professional janitorial and maintenance services across a wide range of commercial sectors, including large retail stores, condominiums, co-ops, apartment buildings, offices, medical facilities, industrial, and manufacturing sites.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Live-In Superintendent to oversee day-to-day building operations at a retirement residence in Markham. This is a key position, requiring hands-on leadership, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will interact regularly with property managers, residents, contractors, cleaners, and other building personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues.
- Be available 24/7 for emergency calls.
- Handle tenant inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs.
- Ensure cleanliness and general upkeep of the building.
- Monitor security and safety systems.
- Maintain logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
- Support rent collection efforts when needed.
- Manage building inventory, tools, and supplies.
- Conduct regular property and equipment inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety standards.
- Promote a positive and respectful living environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar superintendent or building maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Sprinkler systems (wet and dry).
- Electrical boiler rooms.
- Plumbing.
- HVAC systems (Glycol and Chiller systems).
- Generator systems.
- Elevator operations.
- Fire panel and emergency systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
