Product Engineer – Suspension Systems (Windsor-Based, Auburn Hills Travel Required)

We are seeking a passionate and driven Product Engineer to join our suspension systems engineering team. This role is ideal for someone based in Windsor, Ontario, who is able to travel to Auburn Hills, Michigan 1–2 times per week to meet collaboration and program needs.

As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and release of suspension components and systems for production vehicles. From initial concept through to vehicle launch, you will lead engineering efforts that include kinematic/compliance modeling, structural analysis, packaging, validation, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop suspension systems that meet vehicle-level functional objectives.

· Own the product lifecycle: concept, modeling, analysis, validation, and launch.

· Perform component design using DFMEA, structural analysis (CAE), and vehicle packaging (NX).

· Maintain model/drawing integrity using Teamcenter.

· Support component validation planning and execution (DVP&R).

· Manage engineering change (CN), EBOM/CODEP creation, and release activities.

· Support prototype and production builds, address build issues (GIMS), and assist with issue resolution.

· Design fastened joints and define torque specs for suspension assembly.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

· GPA of 2.5 or higher if a recent graduate

· At least 2 years of experience in chassis engineering design and development

· Genuine passion for automotive engineering, demonstrated through personal projects, hobbies, or coursework

· Strong desire to work in the automotive industry

Preferred Qualifications:

· Hands-on suspension system design and validation experience (2+ years)

· Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter

· Familiarity with engineering release systems

· Understanding of problem-solving methodologies (Red-X) and robust design practices (DFSS)

· Master's degree in Engineering

· Involvement in SAE collegiate design competitions

Location & Travel Requirement:

· Position is based in Windsor, Ontario

· Must be able to travel to Auburn Hills, MI 1–2 times per week

· Must meet the 51% work-in-Canada residency requirement
