About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Finance & Accounting to lead our financial operations and systems. This role is critical in driving innovation, ensuring compliance, and aligning financial practices with our Association goals. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a strong background in financial systems, reporting, and team development.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of finance technology strategy, including the integration of Salesforce (CRM), SAP Concur (Expense Management), and NetSuite (ERP).
  • Review monthly financial results and variance analysis to ensure accuracy and insight.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to prepare quarterly forecasts and the annual budget.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place and maintain compliance with regulatory and Association standards.
  • Supervise general accounting functions and lead the accounting team within the Association Services group.
  • Oversee the Finance team's people strategy, including mentorship, professional development, and role alignment to support Association needs.
  • Prepare financial results, forecasts, and budgets to the Audit & Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Lead the annual insurance renewal process and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  • Develop and deliver training on financial systems, concepts, and processes across the Association.
  • Partner with the Director of Technology & Innovation to enhance CRM capabilities and data integration.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • At least 8 years of financial leadership experience, including 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in nonprofit or charitable organizations and familiarity with Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profits (ASNPO).
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), and financial platforms such as Salesforce and SAP Concur.
  • Proficiency with Excel is required.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with experience communicating financial information to senior leadership and boards.
  • Skilled in financial modeling, scenario planning, and aligning financial operations with Association strategy.
