Who We're Looking For:

As the Business Development Manager, you play a pivotal role in achieving Fintel Connects net new client growth objectives. You will be responsible for managing and executing the entire journey of a prospect from initial discovery to qualification to nurturing and strategic guidance to negotiation and closing. Success in this role means consistently generating new pipeline, progressing deals through the funnel, and signing new partners who align with our ICP requirements. You will work closely with our marketing teams, client services teams and onboarding team to ensure a seamless experience for the client from marketing engagement to onboarding and launching as an active client on Fintel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Development: Identify and engage prospective clients, as well as work closely with our revenue team members to ensure a healthy focus and influx of quality prospects
  • Sales Strategy: Contribute to sales strategy, work with leadership to continuously evaluate and pivot on ICP requirements, highlight common barriers and potential solutions to overcome sales challenges
  • Sales Management: Manage the full business development cycle from initial interaction, qualification, nurturing, negotiation and closing
  • Sales Reporting: Track and manage pipeline health, deal progress and ensure transparency across marketing, client services, and leadership on goal progress, whats working, identified risks and risk mitigation planning; leverage HubSpot for data entry and transparency
  • Pitching and RFP Ownership: Create custom proposals, sales pitches and presentations, as well as submit to relevant RFPs
  • Cross Department Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and client services teams to ensure alignment on new client priorities, building and maintaining a healthy pipeline, and generating assets to help nurture prospects through ABM efforts
  • Market Expertise: Be an expert in all things affiliate marketing in financial services; stay informed on industry trends, marketing best practices, and new developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within affiliate marketing, agency or ad tech
  • Proficiency working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar platforms)
  • Experience working in or with financial services organizations considered an asset but not required
  • Familiar with the competitive landscape in affiliate marketing an asset
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to navigate complex client requirements and varying stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and build strong relationships quickly and effortlessly
  • Proven ability to generate, qualify and close new business opportunities
  • Highly skilled in problem solving and ability to work through solutioning with client prospects
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to drive a sales process with efficiency and follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication that drives to an outcome
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and ability to work independently
