Our client is a well-established leader in the health and beauty manufacturing industry, looking to incorporate a Packaging Development Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to support their packaging development team in designing and launching innovative rigid packaging solutions from concept to production.

CA$55,000–70,000 per year (based on experience).

Responsibilities

• Assess rigid packaging options for feasibility, cost, quality, and performance.
• Create and execute test methods and SOPs to ensure material compatibility and functional performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and designers to develop visually appealing, compliant packaging.
• Lead packaging projects with defined timelines and effective stakeholder communication.
• Support engineering and production during launches and trials, driving improvements.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, conduct audits, and evaluate co-packers.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods industry
• Degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• Strong technical knowledge of rigid primary packaging
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of packaging standards (ISO, ASTM), regulations, and GMP
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Project management certification, creative problem-solving, and risk assessment experience (preferred)
