Performance Auto Group is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our corporate accounting team in scenic Huntsville, Ontario.
Due to our unique centralized operating structure, the successful applicant will be onboarded with a title of Regional Office Manager. The responsibilities for this position align closely with those of an Assistant Controller.

Here's what you'll deliver:

  • Overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Receivable (AR) and Front desk administration

  • Helping produce monthly financial reports

  • Ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly analysis as needed to identify trends or flags

  • Back up for submitting government remittances

  • Continuous improvement, implementing and streamlining policies, procedures and controls to ensure the integrity of financial information.

  • Ensure timely/accurate preparation of monthly/annual financial statements and reports

  • Coordinate sending refresher emails or friendly reminders on policies and procedures pertaining to PAG policies and guidelines

  • Coordinate scheduling of meetings and arranging some travel

  • Assist with Health & Safety/AODA initiatives

  • Provide back up for AP, AR, Front desk and Accounting in absence of applicable personnel

  • Help with possible delinquent accounts

  • Liaise with our banking partners for staffing updates

  • Calculate depreciation of fixed assets

  • Process wire transfers as needed

  • Process cheque stop payments as needed

  • Primary contact with leasing division, responsible for overseeing daily leasing functions

  • Provide back up for payroll

  • Special projects or other tasks as requested by Regional Controller

What do you need to succeed?

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5 years of Automotive Dealership Accounting Management experience is an asset.

  • Previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller is an asset.

  • Accounting designation would be considered an asset.

  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable experience.

  • Experience with Google Suite, CDK, PBS, CT Wizard, & 180 Dealer software considered an asset.

  • Ability to navigate and utilize computers at an advanced level, including the ability to operate spreadsheets, word processing and PDF editing programs

  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and manage recurring deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.

  • Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethics.

  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing support and training to a large team of subordinates.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with the team and management.
