Job Summary: The Packline Quality Assurance Support is responsible for real-time inspection and monitoring of product quality during all stages of processing to ensure adherence to food safety protocols and customer specifications. This role supports the Quality Assurance (QA) team in identifying and removing defective products, documenting results, maintaining GMP/Food Safety supplies, and using specialized testing equipment. The position also serves as a key collaborator with Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to resolve quality concerns and uphold company standards. This role requires an individual who exemplifies the company values of humble, driven, and solutions-oriented.

Role and Accountability:
  • Inspect Fruit and packaging during processing to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Able to record validate and understand the testing of key equipment used as part of our CCP's
  • Remove and document substandard products to prevent defects from reaching customers.
  • Record inspection results accurately using iPads, computers, or PDF forms.
  • Operate quality testing tools (e.g., pressure testers, refractometers) with proper calibration.
  • Monitor and restock GMP/Food Safety supplies across the packline.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Packline Leads, Booth Operators, Warehouse, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
  • Assist with proactive cleaning and organization of QA tools and workspaces.
  • Maintain a tour-ready work environment and uphold safety, cleanliness, and hygiene protocols.
  • Support QA-led training for production staff on quality and food safety standards, including onboarding and ongoing training of seasonal QA staff as needed.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including quality inspection records, lot tracking, and label verification for full product traceability.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and procedures, and provide feedback to supervisors when updates or improvements are needed.
  • Execute daily responsibilities to meet departmental goals while adhering to company values (Humble, Driven, Solutions-Oriented).
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve processes within the scope of the role.
  • Attend relevant department and company-wide meetings, including Level 10 meetings, contributing to organizational alignment and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address challenges, develop solutions, and align strategies with company goals.
  • Utilize Microsoft To-Do (or similar) for task tracking and reminders, ensuring productivity and accountability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Understanding of QA processes, defect identification, and grading standards (especially for fruit).
  • Ability to detect small quality deviations and initiate action.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain precise documentation and data entry.
  • Capable of correlating quality results with production activity.
  • Comfortable using digital inspection tools and software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in various temperatures.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance or inspection, particularly in a food production environment, preferred. Additional Information:
  • The role requires flexibility to work any shift necessary, including days, afternoons, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • The successful candidate must be punctual, maintain consistent attendance, and contribute positively to the team environment.
  • High attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of grading and sorting fruit, with a clear knowledge of grading standards.

  • Ability to use a pallet jack for weighing/moving products during quality checks.
