Manager: Global Finance Lead
Location: Windsor, Ontario
Summary of Position:
The Standex Engraving IT/Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for managing the overall operation of the computer systems and telecommunications at all North American-based Engraving sites, including oversight of the tier 1 help desk, ticket escalations and server and infrastructure implementation and management. He/she will participate in projects to gather user requirements, design, configure, test and implement other related business applications that may be proposed as well. The Administrator will monitor system performance and usage to maintain security and reliability; coordinate new software releases, fixes and upgrades with technical teams and users; recommend new features or changes to configuration/ workflows based on user feedback.
The Infrastructure Administrator will work closely with the Standex Enterprise IT team and Standex Engraving Management reporting to the Finance Leader (Global) to help formulate and execute on an IT strategy that meets business objectives of both Engraving North America, Standex Engraving worldwide and Standex as a whole.
Essential Duties :
- Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches;
- Work with Standex enterprise team to enforce and observe Standex IT policies and security requirements.
- Conducts hands-on PC operations and maintenance for tasks outside scope of tier 1 helpdesk.
- Completes all security functions on a regular and timely basis (virus protection, system back-ups, employee access, firewalls, etc.), per the Standex IT directives
- Troubleshoots networks and assists Standex network engineer where needed/directed to upgrade, install and maintain networking hardware devices and software.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor activities
- Helps to develop and adheres to system standards for computer and network devices
- Maintains system reliability in accordance with the needs and direction of management;
- Keeps abreast of new developments within the IT industry; researches and proposes updates/changes that will allow the organization to maintain a competitive edge;
- Coordinates and allocates equipment (computer, printer, fax, etc.) moves in addition to maintenance thereof;
- Supports audit requests.
- Efficiently addresses the needs and concerns of management on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures;
Other Required Skills / Attributes:
- Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server and Windows 11 administration as well as knowledge and experience in IT security techniques associated with NIST 800-53 or other commonly recognized security frameworks.
- Ability to work as part of a global multi-cultural team
- Demonstrated interpersonal and team-work abilities. Customer service oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting regular project updates
- Problem analysis and problem resolution abilities
- Ability to generate a gap analysis from current system to new functionality/enhancement requests
- Ability to work off-hours as needed to complete projects and ensure systems availability (and across multiple time zones in North America)
- Ability to assist in formulation and execution of IT strategies
- Ability to secure travel documents and travel throughout North America, as needed
- Bilingual (Spanish and English speaking and writing abilities) preferred
- Travel 25% to 35%.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3-5 Years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Managerial experience over technical resources
