As a tight-knit and growing team based in the vibrant Innovation Center in downtown Kelowna, BC, we're seeking a dynamic Fullstack Developer to help evolve the systems that power our platform behind the scenes.

The Role

Were looking for a builder, someone who thrives on solving complex problems, shaping internal tools, and designing backend systems that scale. Youll work across the stack with a focus on backend services, data integrations, and admin tooling that empowers our internal teams and customers alike.

This role is full-time. Remote based for candidates in Vancouver, BC. For those interested in relocating to Kelowna, were open to supporting the right candidate in making that move.

Targeted start date: July 2025

Compensation: 85-110K

Your Responsibilities

As a Fullstack Developer at Minga, youll:

  • Build and maintain internal tools that support school operations, Customer Success, Sales, and platform configuration.
  • Design and implement integrations with third-party School Information Systems (SIS), ensuring reliable and secure data syncing.
  • Shape and scale our backend architecture, contributing to improved data pipelines and developer workflows.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Create intuitive admin experiences and dashboards for internal use.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and share knowledge across the team.
  • Collaborate in an agile, fast-paced environment with a focus on feedback, iteration, and continuous improvement.

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend or fullstack development.
  • Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience with gRPC, REST APIs, and service-to-service communication.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases like MySQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience building data integrations or ETL pipelines.
  • Comfortable working in containerized environments (Docker).
  • A strong product mindset, you think about how your work directly impacts users and internal teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative communication style.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud infrastructure.
  • Background in EdTech or integrating with SIS platforms.
  • Experience building internal tools or admin systems for non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with event-driven systems or stream processing tools.

By Your 6-Month Mark at Minga, You Will:

  • Be a trusted contributor to backend systems and internal tools that power key parts of our platform.
  • Have taken ownership of at least one larger integration or internal tooling project.
  • Be driving improvements in our architecture and data practices that impact multiple teams.
  • Have strong partnerships with Product, Design, and other Engineers and feel confident navigating the full development lifecycle.
  • Feel trusted to lead, experiment, and iterate while delivering high-impact solutions.
