Gateway's OD and TA team is based out of Burnaby, with the flexibility to work hybrid from anywhere in Alberta, BC or Ontario. Occasional travel between sites in BC, AB and ON is required.
As our Employee Communication & Recognition Specialist, you'll be at the heart of corporate programs and initiatives delivered through the Organizational Development and Talent Acquisition team as well as a participant in cross-functional efforts that help Gateway ensure that employees are seen, valued and connected. You'll play a key role in shaping how we communicate, celebrate and engage with employees across Gateway. This role is ideal for someone who is:

- Build strong cross-functional relationships across corporate departments, site leadership and HR teams to deliver programs and services effectively in a complex corporate model.
- Use feedback and data to evaluate and improve programs.
- Provided guidance and support to employees and managers on engagement and recognition tools.
- What You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a focus in Human Resources Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience delivering services, including: building partnerships and providing advice, internal communications, events, planning, administration and expertise with related technologies or equivalent.
- Experience in gaming, food & beverage, or a hospitality industry an asset.
- Experience in a complex, unionized, and multi-location company an asset.
- People-focused team player who is passionate about making the connection between business strategy and employee experience and building community.
- Skilled at supporting individuals to feel included, safe and cared for.
- Expert administrator skilled at customer service, organization, business administration and records management.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize and visualize information in ways that motivate and inspire.
- Ability to manage projects/programs/events from needs analysis to project completion.
- Technical knowledge required to effectively administer and support use of related technologies.
- Knowledge of all applicable human resources legislation.
- General understanding of union environments.
