Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding techniques and the ability to work with metal components to assemble and fabricate products. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks using various methods, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Fit and assemble metal parts according to specifications and blueprints.
- Sorting steel items into a list from the shop package to prepare a shopping list
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Utilize cranes for lifting heavy materials during the fabrication process.
- Conduct quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure they meet required standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Use basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for assembly tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining Quality Control of all outgoing jobs
- Attending to CWB audits, meetings and training.
- Responsible for maintaining a valid CWB license.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding and fitting with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with operating plasma cutting equipment, cranes, and forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations in assembly tasks.
- Experience with ductwork assembly is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
