We are currently seeking dedicated and hardworking Harvesting Operators to join our team for the upcoming harvest season.
Job Overview:
As a Harvesting Operator, you will be responsible for operating mechanical blueberry harvesters in the field. This is a hands-on, physically active role that supports the efficient and timely collection of blueberries during peak harvest periods. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, handling machinery, and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate mechanical wild blueberry harvesters safely and efficiently
Perform daily inspections and light maintenance of harvesting equipment
Monitor blueberry quality during harvesting to ensure minimal fruit loss or damage
Follow field supervisor instructions regarding harvest speed, depth, and direction
Assist with loading and unloading harvested fruit
Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area
Report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions promptly
Requirements:
Previous experience operating agricultural machinery preferred (but training will be provided)
Able to work long hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends during harvest
Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Season Dates:
Expected duration: July, August, September and October
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage or piece-rate depending on experience
