Building Maintenance Manager
- Position: Full-time
- Location: Vancouver Lower Mainland, BC
- Pay: $35 to $45 per hour
Are you a skilled and proactive leader ready to make a difference in the lives of seniors? Currently seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations in our residential care facilities, which include Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Long-Term Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Management: Lead and coordinate a team of 3 maintenance workers and contractors; Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure building integrity; Schedule and assign work orders, prioritizing tasks effectively to maintain operational efficiency; Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Technical and Operational: Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify and address maintenance issues; Oversee repairs and upgrades to crucial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.); Manage maintenance budgets efficiently and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes; Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations, ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents; Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and transactions.
- Administrative and Communication: Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance operations; Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors for specialized maintenance tasks; Communicate regularly with property owners and investors to establish priorities and address concerns; Create staff schedules and maintain a clean and well-groomed building appearance; Utilize outside contractors when necessary for larger jobs.
What Were Looking For:
- Proven experience in building maintenance management, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting.
- Preference to those with 3+ years leadership experience + Red Seal Trades in plumbing, electrical, HVAC
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot unexpected issues effectively.
- A passion for maintaining safety and security for all building occupants.
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Leadership abilities to motivate and guide a team of maintenance technicians.
