Our Healthcare client is looking for a Payroll Consultant to join them on 18-month contract. The role is hybrid – 1-2 days a week in office (located in Toronto).


The Payroll Systems and Reporting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring payroll compliance and operational efficiency. This position supports the broader Payroll team and collaborates closely with Human Resources and Finance. Key responsibilities include managing regular payroll processing, maintaining compliance with legislative and policy changes, overseeing and improving payroll processes, and managing system updates and change initiatives. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for preparing internal and external reports to support organizational decision-making and fulfill legal, regulatory, and funding requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing (extremely large complex payroll)
  • Union and non-union payroll experience
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Maintaining System Accuracy and Updates
  • Year-end Reporting (remittances, T4's etc)

Candidates must bring the following to the role for consideration:

  • Professional Payroll Certification (PCP,CPM,PLP)
  • Minimum 5+ years Sr Payroll Processing experience (public sector preferred)
  • Unionized Payroll experience
  • Inquisitive by nature

  • Demonstrated complex problem solver
