Our client an Aluminum Manufacturing Company in Mississauga is looking for a Chemical Technician Assistant to start immediately!!!

In the role of Chemical Technician, you will be responsible for properly maintaining and troubleshooting the Anodizing Process Tanks and the Waste Water Treatment System. This will involve laboratory work to analyze the baths, making the appropriate tank additions, as well as manual tasks such a cleaning filter press. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of in-organic chemistry.

• Temp to Perm position
• Shift: Monday - Friday
• Shift Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm (ABLE TO WORK ROTATING SHIFTS)
• Hourly Rate: $22.56
• You hold one of the following: Open Work Permit, Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizenship

Main Duties

• Perform Titrations and other lab analysis.
• Make chemical additions to our process tanks as required.
• Monitor and adjust out treatment settings of our Waste Water Treatment System.
• Clean filter presses as required.
• Monitor, adjust and calibrate our automated systems.
• Work as a team member prepared to help your other team members when required.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment
• Lead Weekend maintenance shifts overseeing routine chemical maintenance tasks
• Other assigned work as required

Requirements

• Understanding of inorganic chemistry,
• Electro plating or anodizing experience would be an asset.
• Experience using and calibrating lab analytical equipment.
• Completion of college/university/vocational or technical training preferred
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment
• Experience with routine maintenance operations
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
• Work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Computer literate
• Able to work rotating shifts
