Position Overview
Our construction company is seeking an experienced construction professional with excellent leadership skills. If you're good at managing general contractors, hiring subcontractors, and maintaining safety and compliance at a construction site, then you might be perfect as our next construction superintendent. Our ideal candidate has 5 years of construction field experience and can supervise all site activities and maintain safety compliance at all times.
Compensation:$104,000 plus bonus
Responsibilities:- Oversee daily site operations and construction activities for wood-frame multi-family buildings (up to 6 stories).
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, site staff, equipment, deliveries, and inspections.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards; conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Implement and maintain construction schedules; monitor progress and proactively address delays or site issues.
- Ensure all construction work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, local codes, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate daily site reports, photos, and documentation.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout construction stages to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Coordinate site logistics, including staging areas, access, cleanliness, and materials handling.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding schedule updates, site progress, and potential risks or changes.
- Assist in resolving issues with trades, consultants, and suppliers on-site.
- Lead site meetings with trades and stakeholders to align work scopes and expectations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, preferably in multi-family residential (wood-frame) construction.
- In-depth knowledge of the Alberta Building Code, safety regulations, and municipal inspection processes.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, scopes of work, and building practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews and subcontractors effectively.
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with site management software (Procore, BuildPro, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office tools.
- First Aid, CSTS, and other safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS) are assets.
- Class 5 Driver's License and own vehicle required.
