Overview
The People & Culture Manager at Impact Kitchen plays a critical role in the day-to-day execution of key People & Culture functions that shape a consistent and impactful Team Member Experience. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this role manages core areas such as benefits administration, compensation, employee relations, payroll, employment documentation, and People & Culture reporting. They lead a team of two P&C Coordinators and ensure smooth operations across the entire employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding. This role plays a vital part in upholding our core values, driving operational excellence, and maintaining compliance while supporting team engagement and development across the organization.

Core Responsibilities
- General
- Support People & Culture strategy across the organization to drive Team Member Experience, aligning with Impact Kitchen's mission and growth goals.
- Champion Impact Kitchen's core values through decisions, communications, and daily leadership.
- Lead the maintenance of employee data and records in UKG.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with all core policies, legal requirements and standards in the markets served.
- Collaborate with Marketing to manage internal messaging, including the quarterly Staff Newsletter.
- Directly manage and support two P&C Coordinators, providing mentorship and development.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Foster a collaborative and solutions-focused team culture.
- Assist in rolling out People & Culture programs and initiatives, including wellness, DEIB, and recognition.
- Support internal communication strategies and maintain People & Culture documentation and resources.
- Oversee the development and deployment of regular People & Culture reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, absenteeism) for leadership.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Administer and manage employee compensation programs in alignment with company policy and market benchmarks.
- Manage benefit programs including health, wellness, and retirement plans.
- Support the annual compensation review process and provide data-informed recommendations.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure timely, accurate payments in partnership with Finance and payroll providers.
- Ensure system accuracy and data integrity through regular audits and updates.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and a positive experience.
- Manage and issue employment letters, contracts, promotions, and other official documentation
- Manage the execution of internal transfers, leaves of absence, and terminations
- Team Member Experience
- Support handbook reviews and policy updates to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization.
- Lead investigations, develop solutions and collaborate cross functionally providing subject matter expertise to build a work-class environment for all stakeholders.
- Partner with Talent Manager and Regional Managers to create a pipeline for internal succession.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Support leaders in addressing performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.

The Manager of People & Culture will support the cross-border execution of our People & Culture strategy, ensuring alignment with existing systems, processes, and organizational values. They will help manage the P&C workback plan for U.S. market entries and store openings, ensuring compliance with local employment laws while maintaining strong coordination with the Canadian HQ. This role plays a key part in supporting the development of values-aligned teams and scalable operational practices across regions.
