Are you a detail-obsessed HR professional who thrives on precision, thrives in fast-paced environments, and understands the impact of getting payroll exactly right? We're looking for an experienced HR & Payroll Administrator who can confidently manage payroll, benefits, and employee records—particularly within a unionized environment. This role is your chance to be the go-to person for all things payroll and people-related, contributing directly to a well-run, people-first workplace.

What You'll Do:

  • Administer and process bi-weekly payroll and employee benefits with precision and full compliance.

  • Reconcile HR, payroll, and benefits data to ensure clean, consistent records across platforms.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date employee records while safeguarding confidentiality.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees on payroll, benefits, and HR-related inquiries.

  • Navigate unionized payroll and benefits matters in accordance with collective agreements.

  • Support the coordination of interviews, onboarding, meetings, and employee training sessions.

  • Partner with the HR team on employee engagement initiatives, recruitment support, and internal moves.

  • Generate reports for audits, compliance reviews, and internal use.

  • Track and organize employee incident reports, WSIB claims, and associated documentation.

  • Keep up with legislative changes, payroll regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Jump in on ad-hoc HR projects and help elevate the employee experience.

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • PCP certification (or in progress) is a strong asset.

  • 2+ years of experience in HR and payroll administration, ideally in a unionized setting.

  • Working knowledge of payroll systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, or similar HRIS platforms.

  • Solid understanding of benefits programs and employment legislation.

  • Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong multitasking skills and comfort with shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a tech-savvy approach to problem solving.

  • A passion for employee support, fairness, and contributing to a positive, respectful workplace.
