The Program Manager, Total Rewards and HRIS plays a critical role in overseeing and executing compensation, benefits, and HRIS initiatives across all business units. This includes global ownership of Total Rewards strategy and program design, as well as the structure, workflows, and integrity of HR systems and data.

This role ensures alignment with global business needs, legislative compliance, and best practices, while also supporting business partners and leaders with data-driven insights.

This position is located in Scarborough, Ontario, with possible occasional travel to any of our international locations.

1. Total Rewards Strategy & Governance

Lead the development and global implementation of the Total Rewards philosophy, strategy, and roadmap.

Align compensation and benefits programs with business goals, market competitiveness, and internal equity.

Provide strategic input on executive compensation, pay equity, and incentive programs (STIP/LTIP).

Prepare and present recommendations to senior leadership based on modeling, benchmarking, and business context.

Collaborate with HR and Finance leaders on the design of annual pay and reward planning cycles.

2. Compensation Program Management

Administer annual salary review processes, including merit increases and bonus calculations.

Manage sales incentive and executive compensation programs.

Conduct job evaluations, internal leveling, and pay band assignments using established methodologies.

Monitor internal pay equity and conduct audits to ensure compliance and fairness.

Maintain and update job architecture frameworks, salary structures, and position classification.

3. Benefits, Health & Wellness

Oversee global employee benefits programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and pension plans.

Ensure benefit programs are compliant with local legislation across all operating countries.

Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and negotiations for benefits providers.

Lead employee wellness strategy and recommend enhancements based on utilization and feedback.

Facilitate communication and training for employees regarding benefits enrollment and program changes.

4. Reporting & Analytics

Build and maintain compensation and benefits dashboards to support decision-making.

Generate cost models and what-if scenario analyses to assess financial impact of potential program changes.

Track program effectiveness and provide insights through data-driven reporting.

Lead compensation benchmarking and market survey participation.

5. HRIS Strategy & System Management

Own the system architecture, data structure, and workflow design for HRIS and integrated platforms (LMS, payroll, time/attendance, biometrics).

Set data governance standards to ensure global consistency and accuracy.

Oversee daily operations and user support related to HR systems.

Collaborate with IT to test, upgrade, and integrate HR technologies as needed.

Ensure data security and compliance with global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA).

6. HRIS Process Ownership & Support

Develop and document standard operating procedures, user guides, and process flows.

Provide support and guidance to HR teams globally on system usage, process changes, and escalations.

Generate standard and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders (e.g., turnover, headcount, compensation analysis).

Ensure alignment of job titles, levels, and reporting structures across HR systems.

Evaluate and recommend new tools or system enhancements to improve HR efficiency.

7. Policy Development & Compliance

Establish and maintain global policies related to compensation, benefits, and HR processes.

Provide interpretation and advisory support on HR policies and practices.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements in all regions.

Act as the subject matter expert on internal audits or external compliance reviews related to Total Rewards and HRIS.

Role Requirements:

Knowledge of local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.

Proven experience working with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, UKG)

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.

Strong team management skills.

Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.

University Degree or equivalent Specializing in Human Resource Management.

Certified as Compensation and Benefits Management professional, preferred.

10-15 years of Total Rewards experience working with engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations in an industrial environment

Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and total rewards principles, general practices and exposure to working in a global environment

Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)

Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations.

Strong thought leadership along with presence and a bias for action.

Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.

Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
