Job Summary:
We are currently recruiting a Junior Lighting Designer to join our lighting team. In this role, you will demonstrate your passion for lighting design by assisting lighting designers with the design of interior/exterior lighting for various building facilities. The successful candidate will work effectively in a team-based environment and will possess the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects from project managers.
In this role, you will:
require advanced written, verbal communication and problem-solving skills. Qualified candidates will have experience and basic knowledge of lighting design, technology, theory principles and possess minimum skill in AutoCAD 2019, eLume/Revit 2023/BIM360 and AGI 32. Knowledge and experience with any other 3D design software are a bonus. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting research on lighting design and product information for projects and tracking responses
- Analyzing design alternatives and recommending lighting solutions that meet our clients' needs
- Assisting with generating and interpreting computer modeling and manual lighting calculations
- Providing lighting plans
- Developing fixture mounting details
You will be a great fit if you come with:
- University degree or College Diploma (Architectural Engineering Program with a major in Lighting Design) preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to stay focused and work effectively under pressure required.
- Basic knowledge of lighting design, technology, and theory principles.
Skills/abilities:
- Previous lighting design work experience.
- Practical lighting knowledge.
- A passion for lighting design.
- Experience and basic proficiency in AutoCAD 2019, eLume, Revit 2023, BIM360, and AGI 32.
- Experience in 3D design work.
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Onsite
Travel: Limited travel is required
