Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Plate Roll Operator to join our team at our manufacturing plant. The Plate Roll Operator will be responsible for operating machinery to bend and form steel and metal materials, ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate plate rolling machines to form steel and metal plates to specification.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to complete projects.
  • Conduct layout dimensions on materials and plates.
  • Setup, operate, and maintain machinery, including rolling and beveling machines.
  • Perform pre-start-up inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Use lifting devices when necessary to move heavy materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning rolls and other equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation related to the position.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety guidelines and report any hazards.
  • Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods as part of daily duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating plate rolling machinery or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and operate lifting devices.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures and noisy, dusty conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of safety equipment and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with temperatures varying by season.
  • The plant can be noisy and dusty at times; proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided and must be worn.
  • Standard working hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime required during peak production times.
