As the Accountant, youll be the first to hold this role in-house, helping to define how financial operations support our evolving mission. What Youll do:

• Keep our financial operations running smoothly (payables, receivables, ledgers, reconciliations)
• Lead the charge on reporting including monthly, annual, and funder-specific
• Track grants and donations with care, making sure every dollar is accounted for in accordance with CRA guidelines

• Support payroll, benefits, CRA filings, audits, and budgeting with integrity and insight
• Collaborate with our leadership team and program managers to strengthen sustainability and impact
• Liaise with our current outsourced accounting services contractor, who will continue to be responsible for some services
• Liaise with the internal leadership and management team, including those currently managing aspects of our employee benefit programs (e.g., Director of HR, Manager of Development, etc.)

What Were Looking For:

• A diploma or degree in accounting or finance (bonus if youre CPA-designated or working on it)
• 35 years of experience, ideally in nonprofit or community work
• Strong working knowledge of fund accounting, grant management, Excel and other software
• Someone whos detail-oriented but sees the bigger picture and wants to be part of it!
