Electrical Supervisor / Coordinator – Industrial Projects

$55.00 – $60.00 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime paid after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Supervisor / Coordinator to lead and support our electrical team in Fort McMurray. This field-based position is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background, proven leadership ability, and a proactive mindset for coordinating and executing work efficiently and safely.
You will be responsible for mentoring electricians and apprentices, ensuring work quality, and leading by example—both in safety and performance. This role blends supervision, planning, and field coordination, including job walk-downs, quoting, and the preparation of turnkey work packages for execution.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support field electricians and apprentices on industrial and commercial projects
- Mentor team members by offering technical guidance and leadership
- Lead by example in all areas of safety, professionalism, and work ethic
- Walk down jobs to assess scope, materials, and labor requirements
- Prepare accurate quotes and assist with small-scope pricing and change orders
- Plan and schedule work activities in collaboration with the Project Manager and General Foreman
- Develop and turn over complete work packages to Foremen, including drawings, material lists, and execution details
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and specifications
- Conduct field-level quality checks and safety compliance reviews
- Participate in daily toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and crew meetings
- Coordinate procurement and logistics of materials and equipment
- Communicate clearly with clients, inspectors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Step in and provide on-the-tools support when needed
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician certification
- 5+ years of industrial or commercial electrical experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or coordination role
- Ability to mentor tradespeople and foster team development
- Skilled at conducting job walkdowns and preparing accurate quotes
- Experience developing and issuing work packages for field teams
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Electrical Code and applicable safety standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Highly organized with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Must live in or plan to relocate to Fort McMurray, AB
