The S2G Team is growing! We are looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator.

Scope:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role serves as a key resource for cross-border shipment-related inquiries and logistics services. The incumbent will be accountable for accurately coordinating, updating, and monitoring cross-border freight movements, ensuring timely and efficient transportation solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate US to Canada, Canada to US, US to Mexico and US domestic shipments
  • Arrange appropriate carriers and equipment based on space, value and time requirements
  • Effectively follow Solutions 2 GO's cargo movement parameters for each region, creatively arranging moves as required
  • Monitor shipments to their destination, keeping interested parties appraised of all pertinent information
  • Work to correct problems or potential problems effectively, resulting in the best possible outcome
  • Maintain relationships with carriers, freight brokers and customs brokers
  • Correspond with internal and external customers inquiries, resolving conflicts or problems that might arise
  • Update internal freight logs and calendars, including filing relevant documentation within each shipment's folder
  • Negotiate spot quote rates, getting the best price without affecting service
  • Create import and export customs documents and provide them to the shipper, carrier, broker and customer as required
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the harmonized codes database
  • Audit, code and approve freight invoices
  • Backup for Logistics Team Members
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to remain professional under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Proficient in handling a high volume of emails and prioritizing effectively
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage tight deadlines and perform well under stress
  • Adept at interpreting customer requests, resolving concerns, and providing effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Asset: Knowledge of international logistics
  • Asset: An understanding of cross border Customs regulations and tariff classifications, rate negotiations and preparation of all shipping and customs documentation
