The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide support as a Manager, Products and Supplier Relations within the Product Management and Supplier Relations branch.
This position is required to work on-site.
This position is responsible for the overall performance of assigned liquor categories, including defining the strategy and tactics required to achieve revenue targets within each category. The role involves evaluating, listing, and delisting products, as well as designing and implementing promotional activities and events to promote products and meet the needs of the retail store network in Saskatchewan. The incumbent will understand local market and emerging category trends and foster positive relationships with liquor suppliers. Additionally, they co-lead the team of Product Coordinators and the Content Developer within the Product Management and Supplier Relations branch.

Primary Responsibilities
This position performs such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not limited to the following:
- Manage the entire product life cycle including strategic planning and tactical activities to optimize product assortment and achieve category revenue targets.
- Use local market conditions, emerging product trends, customer expectations, and data analytics to select beverage alcohol products to be listed or delisted within the SLGA listing policy.
- Develop and implement innovative marketing programs, events and activities to support product sales and suppliers' objectives, and to add value to retailers. Evolve programs based on successes and lessons learned.
- Closely monitor product and category performance and react to changing sales trends.
- Develop operating standards and procedures to effectively monitor performance and to use in decision making. Monitor and take corrective action on processes and procedures that no longer meet standards or expectations.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure success of the Saskatchewan liquor system, including: the SK Craft Alcohol team to develop and coordinate promotional activity; the Customer Relations team to add value for retailers via programs, promotions and other activity; Purchasing and Specialty Products teams to ensure availability of product; the Distribution Centre to ensure optimal use of warehouse space.
- Manage and update policies, as necessary, including the quality assurance program, ensuring compliance with the policies.
- Manage and co-manage a team of Product Coordinators and Content Developer, both supporting them and holding them accountable for completing tasks and activities accurately and on time.
- Build and foster a supportive team atmosphere among the immediate team and extended teams at SLGA.
- Work within the guidelines of federal and provincial legislation, including packaging, labelling and quality assurance regulations, trade agreements, and warehouse space constraints.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience including 3+ years in Product Management.
- Ability to monitor, assess and evaluate statistical and/or sales information, using it to make decisions and/or provide accurate input.
- Proven ability to develop product and category strategies and effectively manage overall performance.
- Marketing experience, including online and social; a proven record of developing innovative ideas and solutions to promote product.
- Focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of the work.
- Excellent communication, including interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage issues with employees, internal partners, and suppliers, while maintaining positive relationships.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and able to learn other systems.
This position may require minimal travel.
Working Conditions
Core office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday, with scheduled days off taken at their own discretion excluding statutory holidays such as New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Remembrance Day and Christmas Day. The majority of the work day is spent sitting at a desk keyboarding.
