As the Lab Technician, you would be responsible for basic laboratory operations and ensuring a high quality of service and accuracy. Croptimistics soil lab plays a key role in supporting our precision agronomy services.This is a temporary position that will run from August 25, 2025, through to December 19, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory procedures
- Soil sample intake & data entry
- Grind soils
- Weigh soil samples
- Run and monitor equipment
- Extract and filter soil samples
- Assist with the logistics and organisation of samples
- Thorough and accurate completion of data entry and documentation
- Follow lab procedures precisely to ensure consistent, reliable results
- Adhere to laboratory standard turn-around times
- Clean labware and laboratory workspaces
- Monitor and maintain inventory as required
- Maintain a safe testing environment that is compliant with policies and procedures
- Report any issues immediately to the Lab Manager to ensure production is not compromised
Requirements
- Communication, organization and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage time efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety-conscious
- Valid drivers license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a lab environment is considered an asset
- Willing to work overtime, including Saturdays
- Physical ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift 50lbs occasionally, and manual dexterity
- Able to wear personal protective equipment, such as dust masks and gloves
