STRIVE Recruitment is currently hiring aCNC Grinding Technicianfor a growing machine shop in Hamilton, ON. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The Grinding Technician supports production by managing all grinding applications in a jobbing environment, including single pieces and low-quantity runs.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Operate an Okamoto OGM 1260 UNC III Cylindrical Grinder:
• Operate surface grinders to achieve specified finishes and dimensions on flat surfaces.
• Perform honing operations to achieve precise bore diameters and surface finishes.
• Conduct manual cylindrical grinding using conventional grinding machines to produce parts requiring specialized techniques or smaller production runs.
• Verify dimensions of ground tools and parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, callipers, bore gauges, indicators, profilometers).
• Liaise with Engineering to provide constructive feedback and improvements to grinding processes, tooling, and fixturing.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in CNC cylindrical grinding, surface grinding, honing, and manual cylindrical grinding.
• Licensed General Machinist (429A) is considered an asset
• Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and program our specific machine or similar advanced CNC cylindrical grinders.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls is considered an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or sketches.
• General machine shop skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
