Job Overview:
This is a temporary summer role starting from May 2025 to September 2025. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef & Kitchen Manager, the Banquet Cook plays a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction by preparing high-quality food for banquet events, setting up and breaking down food stations, and supporting the kitchen team in executing large-scale meal service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food according to banquet event orders, recipes, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient preparation for events.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down banquet stations as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations before, during, and after service.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties of the kitchen as scheduled.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling and storage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or needs to the Executive Chef.
  • Adapt to last-minute changes in event requirements or service flow.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Valid Food Handler Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of banquet service logistics, large-batch cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
